Strength In SIsterhood

In response to Australia’s growing need for early intervention in gendered violence and unhealthy relationship dynamics, we’ve developed Strength in Sisterhood (SiS).

A powerful and engaging workshop designed to help girls and young women recognise red flags, trust their instincts, and create a supportive sisterhood.

FOR YEAR 7 - 12 STUDENTS

Strength in Sisterhood is a powerful 4 hour workshop designed for students in secondary school. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, we unpack the realities of possessiveness, victim blaming, and the importance of intuition.

Our mission is simple: to create a safe space where girls feel supported, equipped with practical tools, and confident to stand together against harmful behaviours.

THE WORKSHOP

THE PILLARS

Duration: 4 Hour Workshop

Taking a strengths-based and evidence-backed approach, this workshop is a preventative wellbeing session offered only to secondary school students. Through open dialogue, interactive activities, and relatable facilitation, students walk away with the tools to build resilience, confidence, and stronger peer connections.

The workshop is created around 3 concept pillars, and is relational, interactive and conversational.

Why STRENGTH IN SISTERHOOD?

  • 1 in 3 women will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime
    WHO, 2023

  • More than half of young people aged 12-20 have witnessed gender based violence amongst their peers
    Plan International Australia, 2020

  • 70% of students believe schools should do more to educate about respectful relationships

    Our Watch, 2019

  • 1 in 4 women in Australia have experienced emotional abuse by a current or former partner since the age of 15
    Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2022

Our SiS program tackles these issues head-on, providing practical strategies and empowering young people to break cycles of harmful beliefs and behaviours.

The openness and honesty of the program is so positive. Creating a safe space for our young girls. Time allocation is brilliant; engaging ratio of lesson, activity, brain and breaks. This is why we engage the BSE for ALL our Year 9 students, every year.
